The Orchard After School Club

The Orchard After School Club is situated in the Queens Park area of Brighton. It is a collection and care service for children aged 5-10 years between the hours of 3pm and 6pm. We provide a wide range of activities including art and craft, snooker, games computer and Play Station, as well as a quiet area where children can rest at the end of a busy school day. We also visit Queens Park on a regular basis.

Three staff members staff the Club. In the absence of regular staff members, nursery nurses will assist from downstairs.

At present, we collect from St Luke's and Queen's Park School, on foot, so please ensure your child is wearing weather appropriate clothes and shoes and they have not got too much to carry. Many children are dropped off to the Club from other local schools.

Sample Session

3.00-3.30pm Children are collected and brought back to the Club on foot.
3.40-4.10pm Tea - usually a cold tea consisting of sandwiches, cheese, fruit, raisins, breadsticks and cake. During the cold weather we have pizza, beans on toast or soup. Drinks are available throughout the session.

4.10-6.00pm Free play - Snooker, books, puzzles, home corner, art activities, videos, park trips, parachute games, computer, games, Lego, construction toys and board games are available.

At Orchard After School Club Children are encouraged to choose their activities from a wide range available, some like to rest and read whilst others continue to busy themselves. Staff are on hand to ensure smooth running of the club. We have behaviour expectations at the club and reserve the right to cancel the space of a continuously disruptive child.
